LAURA MUIR will be presented with her retrospective European Indoor bronze medal in Fife this weekend.
Muir learned she had been upgraded in January after finishing fourth in the 3,000 metres in Prague in 2015 and she will receive her medal at the Lindsays Short Course cross-country event at Kirkcaldy on Saturday.
Russia’s Yelena Korobkina won gold in Prague but was later found guilty of doping offences. Belarusian Sviatlana Kudzelich has had her silver upgraded to gold and Netherlands’ Maureen Koster will take silver.
Muir said: “I cannot emphasise or explain how much it means to the athletes to have the results rectified and the medals awarded to those who compete within the rules of our sport.
“So I am very excited to see that particular European Indoors 2015 medal at Kirkcaldy and it will have a proud place alongside my other sporting accomplishments.”
