DLR strikers stand firm against bully bosses

A STRIKE on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in London remained “rock solid” for a second day, rail union RMT said yesterday.

A dispute over DLR operator Keolis Amey’s use of agency staff and other problems with working practices sparked the 48-hour walkout.

RMT general secretary Mick Cash said the union’s members “remain united, determined and rock solid in their industrial action” and that they had “made it crystal clear that they will not be bullied into accepting changes that undermine both their jobs and operational safety.”

He added: “There is no excuse for Keolis Amey to dig their heads in the sand in the face of the very clear anger they have generated across the DLR workforce and it’s down to them to now face up to the issues at the heart of this dispute.

“RMT’s executive is monitoring the situation and the union remains available for meaningful talks.”
