Some amazing National Hunt racing this afternoon, but the best bet of the day could come on the all-weather at Lingfield Park in the form of Razor Wind in the Coral.co.uk Handicap at 3.10.

This progressive runner showed his true worth last time out when stepped back up to this 10-furlong trip with a clear-cut success.

This looks a much better race, but there is little doubt that this son of Dubawi is on the upgrade and he can take care of the top-weight Maverick Wave and the prolific six-year-old Brocklebank.

It is Trials’ Day at Cheltenham and the big race is the Grade Two BetBright Cup Chase at 1.50 over an extended three miles and one furlong.

The youngsters Many Clouds (Hennessy hero) and Smad Place are interesting runners as we have yet to see the very best of both of them, but both may have to bow to the more experienced The Giant Bolster.

David Bridgwater’s charge has been a model of consistency at the Prestbury Park track through his career with form figures there since 2012 of 124513, including victory in last year’s race.

The more rain the better for the 10-year-old but, whatever the ground, his staying power up the hill can see him take care of Many Clouds.

Dynaste is the other player here, but I have a feeling that he is best short of this extended three-mile trip and if they go a proper gallop that he will be found wanting in the closing stages.

The supporting races are outstanding at the track and I expect victories for the likes of Peace And Co in the opening Triumph Hurdle Trial at 12.40 and Saphir Du Rheu on his return to hurdles in the Cleeve at 3.35.

However, the best value bet on the card could be the Nick Gifford-trained Generous Ransom in the novice handicap chase at 1.15.

This seven-year-old finished a fair staying on third to Stellar Notion at Kempton Park over two-and-a-half miles, but this stiffer track and the pull in the weights makes him a big each-way player here ahead of his old rival and the strong staying Irish Cavalier.

The Skybet Chase at Doncaster (3.15) looks wide open, but Phillip Hobbs has two strong chances with his novices Royal Player and If In Doubt.

The latter just gets the vote as he should be well suited to this test and gets plenty of weight from his stable-mate.

If the ground were to dry out a bit then Night In Milan and the old boy Vino Griego would have claims, while top weight Medermit is not out of it either.

Finally at Uttoxeter take a second look at Our Cat after she hosed up at Exeter and is sure to relish the extra yardage here.
