TRADE unionists and Labour campaigners joined together in Leeds on Wednesday evening to celebrate the opening of a new Unite Community support centre.
Unite has thrown its doors open to people not in a regular workplace, such as students, the unemployed and pensioners.
It has opened up centres across Britain, providing skills training and organising community anti-cuts campaigns.
The new office is shared with Labour Pudsey parliamentary candidate Jamie Hanley, who is hoping to overturn the Tories’ majority of 2,000.
