SUSPECTED Islamic State (Isis) terrorists set off a series of bombings in Baghdad and its environs yesterday, killing at least 15 people.
A parked car bomb went off in Mishada, 20 miles north of the capital, killing at least four civilians and wounding 12, police officials said.
In the city’s north-western Shula neighbourhood, a bomb exploded near a restaurant, leaving three civilians dead and eight injured.
Another bomb killed a further three civilians and wounded nine in a commercial area in Youssifiyah, 12 miles south of Baghdad.
Two more civilians perished and seven others were wounded when a bomb struck an outdoor market in Latifiyah, about 20 miles south of the capital.
A police patrol in Madain, about 14 miles south-east of Baghdad, was also bombed, killing a police officer and a civilian and wounding five people.
One civilian was killed and five wounded in Baghdad’s northern Shaab neighbourhood.
