Stewart Lee — “the 41st greatest stand-up of all time” — is the perfect antidote to so-called comics who draw on the mind-numbing minutiae of their sad lives for their routines.
Instead, Lee tackles racial, sexual and political intolerance head on because he refuses to ape other comedians and “remember their childhood in regional accents.”
His heart is very much in a liberal left place and he’s doing this as a benefit gig for the NHS — another good reason to catch up with this innovative comic.
