TRUMP: A state special grand jury investigating efforts by then-President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn his 2020 election loss in Georgia said on Thursday it believes “one or more witnesses” committed perjury and urged local prosecutors to bring charges.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should “seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling,” according to portions of the special grand jury’s final report.

GUATEMALA: Farmers blocked 12 national highways in Guatemala on Thursday to protest against a judicial decision that prevents Indigenous leader Thelma Cabrera from taking part in the June 25 presidential elections.

Supporters of the Movement for the Liberation of the Peoples also took to the streets to protest against the judges who rejected a legal appeal presented by Cabrera’s lawyers.

HARPER COLLINS: Striking union members at Rupert Murdoch’s HarperCollins Publishers have approved a tentative agreement and will return to work next Tuesday.

The agreement by members of United Auto Workers Union, who represent the workers, ended a walkout of more than 200 employees lasting more than three months and will see annual starting pay increase to $47,500 (£39,500) and rise to $50,000 (£41,600) by the beginning of 2025. Full-time employees in the union will also receive lump sum payments of $1,500 (£1,248).

GERMANY: Workers at seven of Germany’s airports walked out on Friday over their demands for a 10.5 per cent pay rise to keep pace with the soaring cost of living.

Ahead of the strike Verdi said the one-day walkout by civil aviation security and ground staff would bring flights to a standstill at airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dortmund, Hannover and Bremen.
