Young environmentalists in Wales to hold their first climate conference this week

YOUNG environmental activists in Wales are holding their first climate conference this week as world leaders gather in Egypt for the Cop27 talks.

The campaigners, who meet in Cardiff on Tuesday and tomorrow, will hold talks with Welsh political leaders, meet environmental organisations and hear global reports on climate change.

Environment charity Size of Wales, which is committed to preserving tropical forests and expanding tree growth, is supporting the event.

Size of Wales policy and education manager Kevin Rahman-Daultrey said: “Climate change is the most pressing threat humanity faces and younger and future generations will bear the brunt of this.

“It is vitally important that young people are able to speak to those in power about what they are doing to protect their futures and what they want them to be doing.

“This is why engaging young people in the Cop process and providing platforms for young people to come together with those in power here in Wales is so important.”
