GREEN MPs would use their votes to “keep the Tories out and keep Labour in line,” Natalie Bennett vowed yesterday as she launched her party’s pledge card.
The words are emblazoned on a pledge card launched by Ms Bennett in the Greens’ target seat of Bristol West.
She said: “What I’m pledging today is that Green MPs will always stick to their principles and stand up for what matters.”
Ms Bennett was speaking at a foodbank in the constituency, which she visited with campaigning chef Jack Monroe.
Ms Monroe, who publicly broke with Labour in March, said that, “in the midst of business-as-usual politics, the Greens offer real hope for the future.”
Despite polling at 6 per cent nationally, their highest-ever level at a general election, the Greens are unlikely to win more than one seat.
Incumbent MP Caroline Lucas looks safe in Brighton, but polls show the Greens lagging behind Labour in Bristol West, their second target.
