LEANNE WOOD yesterday urged Welsh voters to seize back power and wealth from the “London city state” by backing Plaid Cymru.
Ms Wood promised her party would win “equality” for Wales at a rally in Carmarthen, where Gwynfor Evans was elected the first Plaid MP in 1966.
She said Wales “cannot take any more punishment for mistakes made by bankers,” vowing to help end Tory rule.
But she took aim at Labour too as she attacked the record of the “two old Westminster parties.”
“Our opponents — all of them — promise more cuts, more punishment,” she said.
“They took away our industries and now they’re trying to take away our hard-won public services.”
Labour had targeted Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, but Plaid are expected to hold on in all three of their current seats.
It is “probable” that the party will also snatch Ynys Mon, according to the Election Forecast.
