The Karl Marx Appreciation Society
Owen Gallagher
Comrades,
As secretary, I am delighted to instruct you to attend
Karl’s birthday party at the address below on the 5th May.
Though increasingly stooped with personal debt
his mind and tongue are faster than Google.
The prescription for his lenses has multiplied but
that doesn’t prevent him from predicting the future.
He can hear the Dow Jones Index rise and fall
before the stock exchange opens.
We are hosting the celebration in the Lenin Room and request
you dress as a heroic figure of our revolutionary past.
For the best look-alike Mrs. Marx will present the winner
with a signed copy of Karl’s Poems.
No doubt he will request Pin the Tail on the Donkey
and Charades. A defibrillator will be on stand-by.
Fraternally,
Comrade Einstein
