Israel bombs Hamas after Isis revenge rocket strike

ISRAELI jets bombed Gaza yesterday in retaliation for rocket attacks, as French telecom company Orange said it was considering divestment.

Air strikes hit Hamas training sites late on Wednesday and early yesterday.

Hamas said there were no casualties since it had already evacuated the areas.

A group supporting Islamic State (Isis) took responsibility for the rocket attack toward Israel, for the second time in a week, calling it revenge for the killing of one of its members by security forces.

Orange chief executive Stephane Richard said on Wednesday that the company wanted to end its relationship with Israeli company Partner Communications.

But the firm issued a statement yesterday stressing that it did not want to maintain a presence in countries where it was not the main service provider.

The firm denied accusations of anti-semitism, saying it did not want a political debate.
