More EFL games postponed due to Covid-19

New Year's Day games off in every tier, including Coventry v Luton in the Championship, as outbreaks continue

LUTON’S trip to Coventry tomorrow has been postponed due to coronavirus cases and injuries within the Hatters squad — just one of several EFL games dropped from the New Year’s Day schedule.

The Championship club did not have a sufficient number of players to be able to fulfil their Boxing Day match against Bristol City and reluctantly accepted today that it would still not be possible to raise a squad.

Tomorrow’s League One matches between Ipswich and Lincoln and Wigan and Accrington were also called off due to coronavirus issues, in addition to League Two fixtures between Salford and Tranmere and Rochdale and Mansfield.

Swansea City’s Championship fixture against Fulham, originally scheduled for January 3, was also postponed due to “a considerable number” of positive cases in the Swans squad.
