RAIL workers furious over the sacking of two colleagues by Arriva Trains Wales bosses announced a two-day walkout yesterday.
Conductors from Holyhead, Chester and Llandudno will walkout on Thursday and Friday over the “victimisation” of the pair.
Transport union RMT accused Arriva managers of an “outright abuse by the company of the sickness absence policy.”
Thursday’s action is the second strike staged over the dispute this month.
RMT general secretary Mick Cash said that bosses had resorted to “a barrage of distortions, misinformation and subterfuge” to underplay the impact of the previous walkout.
“With the anger on the shop floor growing and spreading, RMT is in no doubt that our remembers will continue support the action and their victimised colleagues,” said Mr Cash.
The conductors will also withdraw all goodwill shifts for the company between Saturday October 25 and Saturday November 8.
