TRAIN caters in northern England will walk out for a week from Saturday in a bitter row over compulsory redundancies.
Transport union RMT branded the threatened cuts a "kick in the teeth for hard-working and loyal staff."
The staff provide a trolley service on Northern Rail services between Carlisle and Settle.
RMT says there is no justification for the compulsory redundancies, claiming that the not-for-profit Settle and Carlisle Railway Development Company is doing well financially.
The development company was unavailable for comment.
