MEN’S FOOTBALL: The New Saints juggernaut rolled on with a 3-0 win over Penybont that extended their unbeaten run in the Cymru Premier to 17 games and kept them six points clear at the top with two games in hand.

Second-placed Connah’s Quay brushed aside bottom club Pontypridd 3-1, Cardiff Met won 1-0 at Bala and a Rio Dyer goal edged Haverfordwest past Caernarfon by the same score.

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Mia Venner grabbed a late try as unbeaten reigning champions Gloucester-Hartpury edged to a 31-27 win at last year’s beaten finalists Exeter but Saracens still top the English Women’s Premiership, and maintained their 100 per cent record, after scoring 10 tries in a 60-17 destruction of bottom club Leicester.

Bristol overcame Ealing 41-17 and Loughborough won 24-12 at Sale in Saturday’s other fixtures.

MEN’S BOXING: Briton Sunny Edwards suffered a first career defeat when he was stopped in the 10th round of his World Flyweight unification title bout against Jesse Rodriguez in the early hours of Sunday morning in Arizona.
