THE 18-year-old accused of killing three girls at a dance class in Southport admitted the attack on the first day of his trial yesterday.
Axel Rudakubana was to stand trial over the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, on July 29.
He pleaded guilty to their murders and the attempted murders of eight other children, class instructor Leanne Lucas and businessman John Hayes.
Rudakubana also admitted possession of a knife, production of a biological toxin, ricin and possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism.
The information Mr Rudakubana was alleged to possess included a PDF file entitled Military Studies In The Jihad Against The Tyrants, and The Al Qaeda Training Manual between August 29 2021 and July 30 2024.
His victims’ relatives had been expecting the trial to open today.
Cardiff-born Mr Rudakubana, of Banks, Lancashire, will be sentenced on Thursday.
