WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Unbeaten Glasgow City swept aside Hamilton 6-0 to stay five points clear in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, as their nearest challengers Celtic thumped Partick Thistle 8-0 and Rangers romped to a 7-0 win in Motherwell.
Bottom-of-the-table Glasgow Women are still without a point after narrowly going down 2-1 at Dundee United, Aberdeen lost 1-0 at home to Hearts and Spartans won 2-1 at Hibernian.
MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Guildford lost 4-2 to Cardiff, but remain three points clear in the Elite League after their 4-3 over-time success at Coventry.
Second-placed Sheffield lost 4-2 to Glasgow before making amends with a 4-2 win against Manchester.
Belfast lost 4-1 in Cardiff before winning 5-3 in Nottingham, bottom club Dundee went down 5-4 in Manchester and 4-1 at home to Fife, who also sank Coventry 3-2 in over-time, and Nottingham won 3-1 in Glasgow.
WOMEN’S RUGBY: League leaders Gloucester-Hartpury won 33-22 at third-placed Harlequins to maintain their unbeaten record and four-point lead in the Women’s Premier 15s, while Cliodhna Moloney scored two tries as second-placed Exeter thumped Bristol 41-0.
Reigning champions Saracens eased past Worcester 64-20. Wasps are still without a win after they went down 24-0 at Sale and Loughborough beat bottom of the table Darlington Mowden Park 41-7.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: Table-topping London won twice, 88-67 at bottom club Surrey and 75-63 over Sheffield, to keep ahead of Bristol, who also enjoyed two wins, 91-73 in Sheffield and 86-76 at home to Newcastle.
Cheshire lost 100-82 at Leicester but hit back to squeeze past Manchester 78-74 with Tahjai Teague grabbing 20 points and nine rebounds, Caledonia saw off Plymouth 96-80 and Manchester edged out Newcastle 97-92.
