Poetry on the Picketline Say It With Me by Alex Mazey

Reward cards. Advances in technology. Easy living.
Happy hour. Two for one. One for two. Gift wrapped.
Restoring meaning to your life with a positive outlook.

Restoring vitality with a gym membership. Eating in
moderation. Drinking responsibly. Treating yourself.
Living in the fast lane. Taking it easy. No regrets.

A strong economy. A diverse and low-risk society.
Money for the poor. Affordable healthcare. Good food
and good morals. Shopping in megamalls. Lipstick –

in different shades. Coffee grown on the mountainside.
Happy farmers with educated children. All paper cups
fighting deforestation. Obvious without complexity.

All the answers. No explanation needed. No need
to worry. New flavours available. Collect all colours.

Sat It With Me is an attempt, with a wry smile, to demonstrate the contradictory nature of the political and corporate slogans that permeate our daily lives.
