Man accused of murdering delivery driver appears in court

A MAN accused of murdering a parcel delivery driver in Leeds was remanded in custody today.

Mark Ross, 32, who appeared before magistrates in the city, is accused of killing of 42-year-old Claudiu-Carol Kondor.

Mr Kondor died as he tried to stop his silver Ford Transit Cargo van from being stolen in the Wortley area of Leeds while he was making a delivery on Tuesday August 20.

Mr Ross, of the city’s Armley district, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

He did not indicate a plea during the two-minute hearing and was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday.

Eddie Hampshire, also of Leeds, remains in custody after being arrested in connection with the death following a public appeal.

A woman arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation.
