Sack Young, Labour demands after a tweet of his is found making a sexual ‘joke’ about starving children

LABOUR told PM Theresa May to “show some leadership” and sack Toby Young today after he was found to have tweeted a sexual “joke” about starving children on Comic Relief.

The rightwinger’s appointment to the Office for Students universities regulator unleashed a barrage of criticism when his history of crude and sexist posts on social media was unearthed.

In the latest he claimed to have gone through five boxes of tissues “wanking” over Comic Relief.

Shadow health secretary Jon Ashworth said: “These tweets from Toby Young are disgusting, offensive, sexist. [Ms May] should show some leadership and she should get rid of him.”

But the PM defended Mr Young's “exceedingly good work in relation to free schools,” saying he would only be given the boot if he carried on making offensive comments.

In his defence, Mr Young said that all his offending messages date back at least five years and that he is now a changed and “more serious” man.
