TWO-THIRDS of dating app users are swiping at work, the Morning Star can reveal today — but heartless bosses see it as a disciplinary offence.
New figures from Badoo, the most widely used dating app globally, show that 67 per cent of women and 66 per cent of men are active between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, with Thursdays seeing the most activity.
But bosses are increasingly seeing the use of such apps — which also include Tinder and Bumble — as a potential disciplinary offence, according to union reps.
The phenomenon is thought to affect service and manufacturing sector workers in particular, who are more likely to be banned from using their phones at work than office workers.
One union organiser working in the hospitality sector confirmed yesterday that at least one worker had been disciplined for the use of a dating app in recent months.
