MI6 chief visits Israeli counter-part

BRITISH spy chief Alex Younger met his Israeli counterpart last week, according to an Israeli television channel.

The MI6 boss got together with Mossad director Yossi Cohen in Israel to discuss intelligence on Iran’s nuclear programme.

Israel and the United States claim that Iran is trying to develop a nuclear weapon, in violation of a 2015 agreement brokered by then president Barack Obama.

Britain and the European Union continue to respect the 2015 deal with Tehran, under which sanctions have been lifted in return for Iran curbing its nuclear activities.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said recently that Iran has not violated the deal.
