A CHILD died in a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s western Bryansk region, officials said today as both sides continue to bomb each other.
Local reports said that the attack, which killed the 11-year-old boy, hit a five-storey block of flats.
On the other side of the border, three people died in the Ukrainian city of Kherson when a Russian drone struck a minibus.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved budget plans to raise next year’s military spending to record levels.
Around 32.5 per cent of the budget posted on a government website today is earmarked for defence, amounting to 13.5 trillion roubles (over £99 billion), up from a reported 28.3 per cent this year.
Meanwhile, European Council president Antonio Costa and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas arrived in Kiev today, promising continued support for Ukraine.
Mr Costa reiterated the recent EU commitment of €4.2bn (£3.5bn) to support Ukraine’s budget and €1.5bn (£1.25bn) of assistance every month from frozen Russian assets.
He vowed that the bloc would “stand for Ukraine as long as necessary.”
