Teachers pen letter to paper warning of Tory damage

THE Telegraph published a letter at the weekend by 100 teachers expressing “deep concern” about the effects of another Tory government on education.

The teachers penned the letter to the right-wing newspaper highlighting the chaos the coalition has had on schools, and fear another five years will leave the system “damaged beyond repair.”

It said: “We don’t have confidence that Conservative policy is developed from pedagogical principles.

“Instead, it seems to be guided by an ideology that sees public services as a problem and wants to create a market in education.”

But the letter was published on page 25 of Saturday’s edition rather than the front page — despite featuring a letter from 100 big business bosses backing the Tory policies on the front last week.
