The World Cup quarter-finals kick-off tonight with hosts Brazil taking on the impressive Chile.
Chile have looked strong in their opening three games and despite their loss to Holland, they were by far the better team when they knocked out World Cup holders Spain 2-0.
The return of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal will greatly strengthen their midfield and it seems Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will change the middle of the side in order to stop Vidal from dominating the game.
Fernandinho is likely to get the nod ahead of Paulinho who has so far disappointed this summer.
“Fernando did well when he came in,” Scolari said. “He defended well and created opportunities in attack. He has a good pass. We have been making observations and what we tried to do worked.”
Meanwhile, Chile have had their preperations for the game disrupted with Brazilian media attempting to watch the Group B runners up train.
A news helicopter flew over the team’s base on Thursday causing manager Jorge Sampaoli to halt the training session.
But the temporary distraction has not stopped Chile’s confident mood going into the game.
“We came to make history,” forward Alexis Sanchez said. “We beat the world champion (Spain).
“We tripped up against the Netherlands, but we saw the errors we made.
“We gave them opportunities and they took advantage of them. That’s the error we won’t make against Brazil.”
