Trans model highlights inclusivity on catwalk

A TRANSGENDER model will open a fashion show this evening to send a message of inclusivity during London Fashion Week.

Johanna Londinium will take to the catwalk for the Fuse show covered only in body paint.

The model, who has posed for Harper’s Bazaar China and crossdressing fashion magazine Candy, said she aimed to represent the transgender community in the world of high fashion.

“I am super happy to have the opportunity to represent the transgendered community on a bigger platform, to a bigger audience,” she told the Star.

“The only way people are educated is by exposure and if me putting myself out there more is exposing people to the unfamiliar it can only be a good thing for me and the community I represent.”

She added that her choice of profession came after growing up in the ’90s when supermodels and the “beautiful aesthetic and the confident, sexy iconic energy they projected into the world” ruled the fashion scene.
