GOLF: Play was suspended in the Dutch Open yesterday after Fabrizio Zanotti was hit on the head by a golf ball.
He was taken to hospital after being struck on the 16th fairway by a ball hit from the 14th tee.
The 31-year-old was level par after six holes, but opted to retire from the tournament.

RUGBY UNION: Tickets for next year’s World Cup go on sale this morning., with who gets the most sought-after to be decided by ballot.
Entry to the most high-profile games is as low as £15, but the best seats for the final are up to £715.

 

FOOTBALL: Fifa insisted yesterday that Canada had the best bid for the women’s 2015 World Cup, despite player protest over artificial pitches.
Nearly 50 top players have signed a petition alleging sex discrimination over the fact that all six venues use artificial pitches and threatening legal action to bring the tournament on grass.
