Bardsley extends Man City stay with new deal

Manchester City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley signed a new contract yesterday, extending her stay for a further two years.

Bardsley has enjoyed monumental success at the club, winning the League Cup, FA Cup and the Women’s Super League.

The England shot stopper has been with the club since they developed in 2014 and is looking forward to winning more trophies with this group of players.

“I’m thrilled to extend my contract with Manchester City,” she said.

“When I first signed with the club they wanted to become a professional, competitive team that could challenge for titles and I am proud to have been a part of this incredible journey over the last three seasons.

“The support of everyone at the club, from the coaching staff to the fans, has been unbelievable and Manchester City’s vision for growing the women’s game is as ambitious as ever.

“We’ve got an exciting season ahead and I can’t wait to go after even more success with the team when we kick off the new season in September.”

City’s head coach Nick Cushing added: “Karen’s professionalism and drive to improve every day is exceptional and I’m delighted she has extended her contract with the club.”
