16-year-old Asian youth badly beaten in Rotherham

A 16-YEAR-OLD Asian youth was being treated for head injuries yesterday after an attack in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

The vicious assault took place at 1.10pm on Wednesday.

It follows the death on August 10 of an 81-year-old Rotherham Asian man, Mushin Ahmed, who was attacked on his way to his mosque.

Two men have been charged in relation to the death.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Wednesday’s attack.

Rotherham is being targeted by racist groups attempting to divide the community over the grooming of young white women for sexual abuse, which has involved some Asian men although the majority of those involved have been white.

The latest far-right demonstration was on Saturday and involved the fascist Britain First group, whose supporters were heavily outnumbered by anti-fascists.

South Yorkshire police say the cost of policing recent demonstrations, mainly by far-right groups targeting the town, is £4 million.
