Miley-inspired billboards pop up

British billboards will be daubed with the latest Conservative election poster from Tory propagandist Saatchi showing a wrecking ball — minus Miley Cyrus.

The ad, unveiled last night, shows a wrecking ball with the words “Don’t Let Labour Wreck It” slamming into the slogan “A Recovering Economy.”

Saatchi is presumably hoping to repeat its successful spin in 1979 for former PM Margaret Thatcher, when it produced its infamous Labour Isn’t Working poster for the Tories.

Conservative Party chairman Grant Shapps warned that “the recovery is fragile” and “could be crushed by Labour’s wrecking ball” leading to chaos for hard-working families.

“So, today our message is simple: Britain’s on the right track, don’t turn back,” he said.

But for those living in the 21st century the wrecking ball is more likely to conjure up images of the pop star Miley, who swung naked on one in a raunchy video of her hit single of the same name.

Shadow Treasury chief secretary Chris Leslie argued that the Tories’ so-called recovery has failed to reach kitchen tables across Britain, pointing out that while a few at the top have been given a huge tax cut, working people are £1,600 a year worse off.
