Stray dog gun cull resumes over rabies

Officials in Bulawayo announced yesterday that they are resuming shooting stray dogs after an outbreak of rabies.

They had shot around 160 dogs in the past month, they said, but had had to pause the operation after running out of bullets.

The cull will continue till the end of April, said Bulawayo assistant health services director Edwin Sibanda. He blamed a rise in strays on illegal breeders.
