US: McCain threat to cut off UN cash

Congress should reconsider funding for the United Nations if the security council approves a resolution on Palestinian statehood, Republican Senator John McCain said yesterday.

Mr McCain claimed that President Barack Obama should not even consider such a resolution.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s comments last week opposing a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians have widened the rift between him and the Obama administration.
