A Yorkshire Palestine supporter has completed an 800-mile South to North walk of England to raise over £3,000 for the people of Gaza.
And with the help of supporters she displayed a giant Palestinian flag on one of the highest points of England to mark the achievement.
Caroline Poland from Sheffield walked from Land’s End in Cornwall to the Scottish borders.
Along the way 50 supporters joined her at the top of Mam Tor — meaning “another hill” — where they displayed a giant Palestinian flag which was photographed from above by para-glider Ash Ginn.
She has raised over £3,000 for women’s education and children’s projects in Gaza’s struggling refugee camps.
Her walk was also a celebration of the success of campaigners for the “right to roam” — in stark contrast to the restrictions imposed by Israel on Palestinians’ right to travel.
She plans to continue her walk to Scotland’s furthest northerly point, John O’ Groats.
