Store staff sue over data leak

THOUSANDS of Morrisons staff are to sue the supermarket after their financial details were posted online by a disgruntled auditor.

Lawyers confirmed yesterday that more than 2,000 staff at the supermarket are taking legal action over the incident.

Andrew Skelton, a senior internal auditor at Morrisons, was given an eight-year jail term in July after being found guilty of leaking sensitive personal data relating to almost 100,000 of the supermarket’s staff.

It cost Morrisons more than £2 million to rectify.
