QPR striker Loic Remy has seen his move to Liverpool fall through with the Premier League runners-up concerned about his fitness levels.
Remy had joined the Anfield club on their tour of the United States last Monday, as the transfer was being finalised for a fee thought to be around £8 million for the striker.
But despite personal terms being agreed, it seems there are fears at Liverpool that Remy is not in the best physical condition and the club have now pulled out of any potential deal.
Remy is still expected to leave QPR, after manager Harry Redknapp claimed on Saturday that a deal between the French striker and Liverpool was completed.
Arsenal were interested in Remy and may revive their interest now a move to Anfield is no longer on the cards.
And in a double blow for Liverpool, new signing Adam Lallana may miss the start of the season after picking up an injury sustained in training on Friday.
The England international sustained a knock to his lateral collateral ligament and is a major doubt for the club’s opening game of the season against Lallana’s former club Southampton.
