HEATHROW Express services have been crippled by an overtime ban over cuts, transport union RMT said yesterday.

The action began last Friday and is set to last a month.

It was already having a serious impact with staff shortages and restricted services, the union reported.

A ban follows a campaign of strike action in RMT’s fight to stop a package of multimillion-pound cuts and the halving of staff numbers with driver-only trains.

The union said management was trying to push the plans through regardless of the implications for staff and the public.

RMT reported that over the weekend the transfer shuttle out to terminal four was severely restricted and that a number of trains were running with only their front few carriages.

The union said there were crowds of disgruntled passengers demanding information at the airport terminals.

RMT acting general secretary Mick Cash accused Heathrow Express of “aggressive, bullying management” and “treating staff like dirt.”
