Venezuela: Locals accuse right of killing 13-year-old boy

RESIDENTS of Ali Primera Socialist City accused Venezuela’s right-wing opposition of attacking their community on Tuesday and killing a 13-year-old boy.

Radio Nacional de Venezuela reported that, amid escalating anti-government violence, protesters had toppled the main gate of the “socialist city” commune and mortally wounded Bryan Principal with two rounds.

The city was established by the Bolivarian Revolution in 2014 for low-income citizens and is named after legendary Venezuelan musician and leftwing activist Ali Primera, dubbed “the People’s Singer.”

“We call on the alleged leaders of the Venezuelan opposition to take responsibility for these acts and condemn them,” Ali Primera Socialist City residents said in a statement.

“Enough of violence, sabotage and media wars. Venezuela is free and wants to live in peace.

“We want complete justice for the events that took place in our commune last night to make sure they do not go unpunished. We want those responsible to go to prison.”

The police are currently investigating Bryan’s murder, the radio station reported.
