EMERGENCY: Fire crews have been battling to save a world-famous art school building after a major blaze engulfed the structure.
The fire at Glasgow School of Art’s Charles Rennie Mackintosh building was reported at about 12.30pm.
Witnesses said flames could be seen spreading across the roof while massive plumes of smoke filled the surrounding sky.
MIGRATION: Scotland needs almost 500,000 migrants over the next 20 years to achieve the same balance of pensioners and working-age adults as Britain, according to the Treasury.

DEATH: An elderly woman has died after discovering her home had been burgled, police said.
Officers were called to the property, in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, at 12.39pm on Thursday.
The call was made by a relative who had been checking the house while the homeowners were away.
