HUNDREDS of cyclists will take part in a marathon trek from Edinburgh to London next month to raise funds for traumatised children in Gaza.
The cycling marathon, covering 474 miles, has been organised in support of Middle Eastern Children’s Association (Meca), with the aim of raising £100,000 for children still suffering from the trauma of Israel’s bombing onslaught on Gaza last year.
Among those taking part is keen cyclist Greg Challis, a Palestine supporter and political activist in Sheffield.
Mr Challis, 55, said: “People around the world were horrified and enraged at Israel’s attack on Gaza. Thousands of children are still suffering trauma there.
“Meca is running a project to help them recover. It involves teaching them to play again as children should.”
