PEOPLE from across Britain have been urged to help unseat Nick Clegg by sending their cash to Labour’s candidate.
Oliver Coppard is standing against the unpopular Deputy Prime Minister in the Sheffield Hallam constituency at May’s general election.
And while Mr Clegg was speaking to Lib Dem conference in Glasgow on Wednesday, his opponent launched an online fund to help him kick the tuition fee sell-out out of the student city.
Mr Coppard raised more than £440 in just 24 hours and cash was continuing to pour into his war chest yesterday, which he hopes will raise £5,000.
The Lib Dem’s would be humiliated by the loss of their leader and are pouring resources into his seat to stop the backlash he has created hitting him.
But Mr Coppard said: “We’re being heavily outspent by Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems here, but we can win in Sheffield Hallam.”
