Concord Rangers' play-off hopes are over after being narrowly beaten away at high-flying Sutton United at Gander Green yesterday despite being the better side for large parts of the game.
The visitors twice struck the woodwork in the opening stages of the game but went down to a late Craig Dundas goal, which now makes it mathematically impossible for the Beach Boys to make the top five, despite having three remaining games this season in the Skrill South.
The win for the U's leaves them needing just one more point to secure second place and home advantage should they reach the play-off final next month.
The hosts made two changes to the side which came from behind to beat Bishop's Stortford at the weekend with Isaac Philpot handed his first team debut in the place of Simon Downer. There was also a place in in the starting line-up for the match winner on Saturday afternoon Craig Dundas.
