Aston Villa staged a magnificent second-half comeback to draw 2-2 with rivals West Bromwich Albion in the first west Midlands derby of the season.
The scoreline was a repeat of the result at The Hawthorns last season when West Brom fought back from 2-0 down at half-time.
This time it was visitors who were left stunned when Shane Long scored twice in 11 minutes to give the Baggies a deserved lead.
But Paul Lambert's side came out positively after the break following the introduction of Gabby Agbonlahor, Andreas Weimann and Fabian Delph early in the half.
And they had soon halved the deficit when Leandro Bacuna's cross was headed on by Weimann for Karim el-Ahmadi to volley past Boaz Myhill.
Ashley Westwood then stepped up to score his first goal for the club in 42 appearances, drilling the ball home from 25-yards to give the Villans a share of the spoils.
The team from Britain's second city have now taken more Premier League points - seven - from a losing position than any other team.
And the point went someway towards sparing Lambert's blushes after he claimed Villa were the "bigger club" of the two in the run-up to the game.
He said: "The start we had was really poor. To be 2-0 down is incredibly tough, you have to hang in and be resolute.
"The first half wasn't good enough but the second was excellent. I thought we were well worthy of getting it back.
"We needed a goal, we threw the subs on and thankfully it worked."
But for Steve Clarke, the disappointment of dropping two points at home having been two goals up was evident to see.
"From 2-0 up at home, you should win the game," said Clarke, who was taking charge of his 50th game as West Brom manager.
"The players are disappointed. We feel as though it was a missed opportunity to get three points. We have drawn too many games this season. You have to turn those draws into games.
"On the positive, it's one defeat in nine games, so it's not all doom and gloom."
Both teams now have 15 points from 12 games, with Albion sitting in 11th place in the table and Villa 12th.
