Two new clubs accepted into league

by Andrew Muirhead

The Lowland Football League has announced that two new clubs have been accepted as league members ahead of next season.

Seven clubs applied for membership to the league with BSC Glasgow and Edinburgh University successfully awarded places in the competition for the 2014/2015 season.

League chairman Andrew Waddell said: “The board looked carefully at all the applications and decided that BSC Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh met our requirements most.

“It was a tough decision for the board as each applicant was assessed on its own merit.”

Next season’s champions will participate in a play-off match against the Highland Football League champions to see who will obtain promotion to SPFL League Two.
