Scotland’s Kylie Walker and England’s Lauren Taylor came through a five-woman play-off to secure their places at the US Women’s Open on Monday.
The duo finished on three under alongside English woman Georgia Hall, United States Beth Allen and Spaniard Patricia Sanz Barrio but two birdies over three extra holes saw them through.
That completed a good day for the British contingent at Buckinghamshire Golf Club with England’s Holly Aitchison and Scotland’s Heather Macrae having already qualified on four under alongside Russia’s Maria Balikoeva.
There was disappointment, though, for England’s Melissa Reid who missed out just days after winning the Turkish Ladies Open.
“It couldn’t have gone better,” said Taylor. “I finished birdie, birdie and then to go into a play-off and birdie the hole was really fun.
“I tried to control my nerves and the tee shot was fine but when I realised this was to make the US Women’s Open I tried to get that shot out of my mind. It was a nice fist pump at the end and all of the adrenaline went out of my mind.”
