Arts Ahead: Datblygu

CARDIFF MUSIC Datblygu Millennium Centre Bute Place April 25

The hugely respected experimental Welsh rock group Datblygu came to prominence in the 1980s and ’90s when the band’s lyrics, almost entirely in Welsh, reflected disillusionment with life in Wales during the Thatcher era.

The band, a catalyst for the new wave of post-punk music which has developed from that time on, haven’t performed live for 20 years, so this concert — which also features — Ela Orleans, R Seiliog and Y Pencadlys — is a great opportunity to catch up with their most recent output, including from their mini-album Erbyn Hyn released last summer.
