DON’T mess with Paul Kenny.
The GMB leader had reached a resounding crescendo in his blistering attack on David Cameron’s attempts to negotiate away workers’ rights when he was told to “wind up” by TUC president Leslie Manasseh.
“I am wound up, mate,” Kenny shot back, to fits of hysterics across the conference centre.
Inevitable when a union is persuaded to withdraw a motion on a key issue, such as GMB’s Eurosceptic hand grenade.
Anxious political journos were disappointed there with the lack of comparable shots fired by Jeremy Corbyn.
When Corbyn took to the stage, ATL general secretary Mary Bousted was spotted taking a picture of the new leader on her iPad — only to discover she had actually taken a selfie.
But then again, it’s best to get the disappointments in early.
