Fifa clear HNK Rejika of racial abuse

Croatian side HNK Rejika have been cleared of racially abusing Manchester City youngster Seko Fofana.

During a friendly in June, City coach Patrick Vieira marched his under-21 team off the pitch when Fofana claimed Rejika players made racist comments towards him.

The French midfielder was sent off for an off-the-ball incident moments before the team walked off the pitch.

But after investigating the incident, Fifa decided they would not open disciplinary proceedings.

“The chairman of the Fifa disciplinary committee considered that, based on the information at his disposal, there were not enough elements to justify the opening of disciplinary proceedings,” Fifa said yesterday.

“The relevant parties were notified on December 5 in the form of a letter, which also emphasised Fifa’s zero-tolerance stance against any form of discrimination.”
