Two Cops Off Campus protesters cleared

A judge yesterday ruled that cops were “heavy handed” during their policing of a protest as he cleared two students of assaulting them.

Deputy District Judge Nicholas Rimmer found Richard Braude and Craig Clarke not guilty of assaulting three officers during the Cops Off Campus march outside the University of London Union last December. Instead the judge found that cops were at fault after CCTV footage showed them punching a protester, and putting Mr Clarke into “a very tight headlock.”
