Former Hearts captain Danny Wilson was officially unveiled as a Rangers player yesterday, after signing a three-year deal.
According to Wilson, the new management team of Mark Warburton and David Weir impressed the defender enough to re-sign for the Championship side after five years away from the club.
Wilson said: “When the manager got the job I thought it was a good appointment and I was really happy when he gave me the call to come in. I’ve only spoken with him briefly but from what I have heard I’ve been very impressed by what he’s had to say.
“I’ve obviously known David Weir from being here before but even without that I’d have been impressed by what he had to say. Obviously he was a massive influence on me when I was so young but even without that, Rangers still has a massive pull and I’m more than happy to be back.”
Wilson will be joined at Ibrox by Rob Kiernan, who transferred from Wigan on a two-year deal. The 24-year-old worked with Warburton in the Watford youth ranks and during a loan spell at Brentford and joins Rangers following a loan stint with Birmingham.
